SJC limits search for CJAM to incumbent
The Supreme Judicial Court has announced that it will review the performance of Robert A. Mulligan during his five-year term as chief justice for administration and management, which expires Sept. 30, but will consider no other candidates for the post.
According to a July 22 statement issued by the court, Mulligan has asked to be considered for reappointment to his position. To determine whether to grant his request, the SJC statement says, the justices will review the "record of efforts" undertaken during Mulligan's tenure, will "discuss with him his views ... concerning future priorities for the Trial Court" and will "take into account the perspectives from both within and outside the court system."
SJC spokeswoman Joan Kenney told Lawyers Weekly that the court is not considering other candidates for the CJAM post.
